february 26, 2010

i knew this past weekend was going to be a good one, but i didn't know that it would be a weekend that i would remember for the rest of my life.

on friday night zach and i had plans to eat at a new restaurant in downtown siloam that we've been wanting to try out for awhile. it was a fun date spot and had a nice atmosphere. our waitress was a fun lady who knew everything about the menu. i was impressed.

after dinner we decided to do a little reminiscing and go back to a place where we went on our first date: the top of the old buildings in downtown siloam. now, if you know me very well at all, you know that i don't like to break or fudge the rules. getting on this roof the first time we went up there was big for me. it was our first date and i had to be brave though. so anyways, we went back up there friday night and sat and talked for a little bit. after awhile we decided that it was time to go and i got up to get off of the roof. at this point, i'm just thinking about not getting caught! as i'm scurrying off the roof i hear zach say "chelsea, one more thing" and i turn around to find him on his knee. my heart absolutely a good way! i was in so much shock that i think it took me awhile to say yes after he asked me to marry him. but i did, so that's all that matters.

i love that i can now say that i not only get to marry someone that i'm absolutely in love with, but my best friend and partner in crime.

zach has the pictures from the night that we got engaged so i'm sure i'll post those once i get them from him. here we are in front of a chapel that we would love to be married in.

so yes...
we're engaged
we're going to be married
and i couldn't be happier.

  1. awww congratulations!!! I am so happy for you, and what a cute way to propose!

  2. Chelsea, as a fellow Pit-player and friend, I approve. This Zach guy has some style! ;) Congratulations and I hope you two are happy forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and EVUR!

  3. For some reason, the rumor floating around the family is that he proposed to you in WalMart, so I'm VERY happy to know he's more romantic than that!
